Leave A Legacy - There is no end to the good you can do

Fidelco is one of over 700 members of Leave A Legacy Connecticut; a public awareness campaign designed to inspire people from all walks of life and income levels to think beyond their lifespan when doing good works.

Imagine how much good could be done if each one of us remembered a favorite charity or cause in our will or estate. The Leave A Legacy website states: If only 20 percent of Americans left a charitable bequest, the current number of charitable bequests would more than double. Imagine what the impact to charitable organizations would be if the 80 percent of Americans who give during their lifetimes also made a charitable gift through their estate plans!

What will your legacy be?

Will you help 20 year-old Courtney when she retires “Meeka,” her first guide dog and applies to Fidelco for a successor guide dog? What about subsequent successor guides, as Courtney and other young clients finish their educations and pursue their careers, raise families and want to continue their independent lives with their Fidelco guide dogs?

And, will you help Fidelco answer the call from an increasing number of men and women across North America who come to us seeking a guide dog for the first time? Partnering with Fidelco helps ensure that we can continue to make a difference in the lives of these individuals who are visually impaired.

June is Leave A Legacy month. It is a good time to establish a will if you don’t have one, or to review and update your will, especially if there has been a significant event in your life. Maybe you’ve been married or you have a new addition to the family. Perhaps your children have grown into adults. Or your life has been touched by an organization that you want to remember in your legacy planning.
