All It Takes Is One
Do you wish you could do more for Fidelco, but really just don’t know where to start? Here are some very creative, yet simple, ideas on how to get more involved and make a difference. Remember, it only takes one idea, one person to inspire others to get involved.
On Your Own—12 year-old Gabe Goodling of Manchester, Connecticut is an active Fidelco supporter. In addition to the money he earns doing chores, Gabe also solicits support for the Walk for Fidelco.
He graciously donates his birthday money as well. Last year, Gabe gave Fidelco more than $100 dollars from his own pocket which helped him meet his goal of being listed in our annual report.
Group Giving—Business Casual Friday at Pullman & Comley, Attorneys at Law, is just one example of how a company or group can give back to the community. Pullman & Comley offices in Connecticut participate in a dress down day and from the most recent event, employees raised more than $600 for Fidelco.
Events—The Fidelco Fall Classic is one of the larger events and is organized by former board member Michael Soderlund. Each year, 160 golfers tee off in support of Fidelco and in 2007, they raised $21,000! Upcoming spring events include the the South Windsor Jaycees “Paws in the Park” on May 3rd and the Torrington Firefighter’s Local 1567 Charity Motorcycle Ride on June 22nd.
